La terapia de aceptación y compromiso para los trastornos por abuso y dependencia de sustancias psicoactivas: una revisión descriptiva

Resumen

El abuso y la dependencia de sustancias psicoactivas es una de las problemáticas asociadas a mayor deterioro en las diferentes áreas de ajuste de las personas que los presentan. Adicional a lo anterior, dentro de los tratamientos centrados en esta problemática, se presentan altos porcentajes de deserción y recaídas. Sobre esta base, resulta pertinente encontrar tratamientos psicológicos que puedan ser eficaces en el abordaje de dicha problemática. Con lo anterior, en las últimas décadas han surgido las denominadas Terapias de Tercera Generación, entre ellas, la Terapia de Aceptación y Compromiso que ha demostrado efectividad en el abordaje de las drogodependencias. Teniendo en cuenta esto, el objetivo del artículo es presentar una revisión de los estudios empíricos en adicciones basados en la Terapia de Aceptación y Compromiso, a partir de la búsqueda y el análisis de la literatura científica. De acuerdo con los resultados, se concluye que la Terapia de Aceptación y Compromiso es prometedora para el abordaje de las adicciones, sin embargo, se hace necesario realizar un mayor número de estudios, con el fin de ampliar su cuerpo empírico.
